This weekend was our weekend to sub for the Maugenhard dorm parents. Before arriving on Friday night, Brad and I are always asked if we have anything special we would like to make for the students.
Some sub parents have special meals or snacks they like to prepare and the staff will make certain that the ingredients are there! We told Joni, the RA, that we would like to make donuts some afternoon for the boys; Brad used to make them once in awhile for our sons at home and they were always a hit.
It turned out to be a four hour job but it was worth it! We made Sour Cream donuts, cakey on the inside with craggy, crispy topping. We dipped some in cinnamon sugar, some in powdered sugar (just like Dreesens for our East Hampton friends), and some in Belgian Dark Chocolate. The boys loved them.
Please pray for Sam, a new boarding student from missionaries in Spain. He has joined a "family" of 30 boys, four children of the dorm parents, Mark and Cyndy, and five RAs for a house total of forty-two. It is a houseful!
