For those history buffs out there, I thought you might be interested. This is the birthplace of Josef Sutter, the famous Sutter of California Gold Rush fame.
Other people made money from gold but he never did. I think he died in poverty (correct me if I am wrong, Michelle).
Anyway, I walk by his home every morning on the way to school. School is just around the corner. You cannot see the plaque on the building, but it has his name on it.
